In 1992 we got a loan of a JCB, one of those big earth moving machines, and within a couple of hours what had been an area of gorse and bramble covered wasteland was transformed into something that had potential for BECOMING a garden. Eight years later we are a small bit proud of what the place looks like. (In quiet personal moments we are hugely pleased, but being of a modest nature we don't say this publicly. We might be heard to say "Yes, it has come on well, hasn't it" or "Isn't nature wonderful").
There is not much point in telling you what plants are in the garden because there are thousands of them. This piece is being composed by Bob who, as was said at the outset is not much of a gardener. Hole digging and rock moving .... Yes. Not to mention being a bit of a genius at wheelbarrow maintenance. This latter bit of machinery being a much more complicated instrument than one would think. However, for the record, here is a short list of some of the plants. There are no pictures because pictures, though worth a thousand words, take so long to appear that you would be gone to the next site before they showed up.( Since writing this originally, I have relented somewhat and there are pictures of some of the plants....on separate pages.) Here is the LIST. (C) B.Walsh 2000.
